Association of Slavic Immigrants (ASI) was established on June 15th 1999 in Vancouver, Washington. The main purpose of the Associations is to assist legal Slavic immigrants during a period of their adaptation in the US. Among the first services of ASI was situating Slavic immigrants in temporary and later permanent residences.
ASIUS members organize services in medical institutions and social services offices. English language classes, driving lessons conducted in Russian is another example of services provided by ASIUS. ASIUS preserves and promotes native language, forming Slavic language classes within Slavic churches, as well as establishing daycare centers studying native language.
